Our Creator, Alice Hardin was born in raised in Orange County California where she attended college at Cal State Fullerton and majored in Art. Born with a love for children she became a "Hollywood" nanny for several years before retiring to become a mom herself.

Of course, if you ask her family they will say over the years she became a "Jack of All Trades" because of her broad interests.
Alice, still resides in Orange County with her husband and their beautiful daughter Ruby, the inspiration for Ruby's Closet.

Desperate for couture style items for her daughter, she began to make them herself. After many compliments she decided to offer them to other families who also desired the same quality and variety in the items they purchased for their children. 

Orders and Backorders:

All order processing will take approximately 2-3 business days. Shipping will be USPS ground and will take approximately 5-10 business days. If you need your item sooner please email us and we can upgrade shipping for an additional cost. These costs will vary.

If an item becomes backordered we will do our best to notify you as quickly as possible. In the event that something you have purchased becomes backordered, we will email you a notification and you can choose to wait for the item or cancel the backordered portion.

Damages and Returns:

Damages:
1) Check all cartons immediately upon delivery. 2) Make note of damage on the freight bill before signing. If the condition of the merchandise contained in the carton is questionable, please write "possible hidden damage" on the freight bill. 3) Damaged merchandise must be returned within 30 days to receive credit.

Returns:
All merchandise must be returned in its original unworn condition, with original reciept, and within 30 days to receive a refund. Refunds will not include shipping and handling charges. Refunds will only be returned to payee in the original form of purchase.

Safety:

Ruby's Closet is commited to producing safe, non toxic, lead free, quality products for children. We have been working with our suppliers and testing facilities in order to ensure this.

Under current legislation, Ruby's Closet is currently meeting all of the Regulations set forth by the United States Government for children's products.

We DO NOT use Swarovski® or "leaded" crystal in our products. We understand that this has become an industry norm, but the CPSIA has not concluded that the lead found in these crystals is safe for children's wear or accessories. For example, when we tested a very small 3.0 mm (approx. the size of a pencil lead) traditional "leaded" crystal, it was found to have 20,000 ppm of lead. The allowable limit by law is no more than 100 ppm! This is why we do not risk your child's safety. We have chosen to use high quality glass and acrylic crystals instead.
                                                                                       
Ruby’s Closet Clippies Feature:

-Latex and chemical free "No Slip" interiors. These keep our clippies in place even in fine hair without the use of potentially harmful magnets or allergy causing latex.

-CPSIA compliant components. We also have lead testing procedures in place that go over and beyond what the current CPSIA legislations requires.

-All non toxic components including non toxic adhesives.

-Flowers made from real silk, earth-friendly felt, organic hand-needled wool, and satin.

-All cut ribbon edges are heat sealed to prevent fraying.

-Glass and acrylic crystal rhinestones. Eliminating potential harm from traditional “leaded” crystal types without losing the brilliance of sparkle.

-All clippies are inter-changeable with our crochet bonnets and headbands. This extends the wear time and lets children with little or no hair enjoy our products too.

-All hair clippies will come on our high quality clippie card.
